Marketing Hacks, Flaky Students, and Studio Taxes [7FMS Ep. #94]

by Daniel Patterson

We did a live Q&A show!

We took seven listener questions and answered them…

Here’s a peek at how we answered these questions:

  • How to choose a second studio location – tips on how to keep growing
  • How to do geographic market research for your studio – how to research the market you’re moving into
  • Dealing with unique and complicated requests from new & re-enrolling families
  • How to develop a program with razor-sharp long-term focus
  • SEO, Google Ads, and business owner duties – how to maintain everything as the owner of your music school
  • Responsibilities and delegation in a larger music school – what to take on, what to delegate
  • How to implement a curriculum with a gamified approach
  • Managing scheduling, payroll, and parent communication – how to handle all the business systems
  • Hiring and training an office manager – when you can afford one & how to train them effectively
  • Trial periods for new hires and matching or elevating your school’s culture
  • Dealing with tax laws, market rates, and more

An important note!

We are not releasing the full episode on YouTube this time…

If you want to listen to the full episode, you will need to use the podcast player.

We are going to release six of the questions on YouTube as “standalone” videos starting today with the first question.

Do You Need More Students?

This month we are focusing on marketing…

Later this month, I’m enrolling new students in our Masterclass marketing training.

During that training, I help owners get more students by giving them…

  • A “scientific” approach to marketing that proves that what they’re doing is actually valuable (number based, not “hope and pray” based, not OPINIONS!)
  • Downloadable templates for ads, for websites, for emails, and for a persuasive online presence
  • Personalized support on all the marketing they create
  • 1-on-1 coaching around their ads and your marketing

If you’d like that kind of personalized help… just click the button below.

Only those who apply (and are approved) will get the invite. All details about costs, logistics, and training schedules will be released on October 29th.

Next Week

On our next episode… we are inviting Kyrsten back on the show to talk about how to manage big projects in your studio (whether it’s implementing a new software, a new educational program, plan a recital… so many applications for these ideas!)

See you next week!

This is a great podcast, it gives studio owners of all sizes a ton of information while also asking the viewers questions. I really like the encouragement given by Daniel and Nate to always ask questions about the business, track information and to search out others who may give us other insights about our business that possibly haven’t occurred to us.
